Driftwood Cocktail and Eatery comes to Small Axe Market Gardens for a five course, Oktoberfest inspired farm dinner and beer pairing. Tour the grounds of a working urban farm and dine under the stars. Andy and Gus of Small Axe Market Gardens will start the evening off with a guided tour and tasting of the farm. You'll walk through the fields and learn about their chemical-free, sustainable urban farming process that delivers heritage produce to Springfield restaurants and residents. A five-course dinner prepared and executed by Chef Ryan Lewis and his staff from Driftwood Cocktail & Eatery will follow. Beer pairing conversation will be conducted by local beer geek, Tim Schweska, who will give the history of each beer and talk about the Oktoberfest culture. Menu: 1st: Fritz Briem 1809 - Berliner Weisse Beets 3 Ways (shaved, roasted, pickled) with Lemongrass Goat Cheese Buttermilk 2nd: Schneider Weisse Tap 7 - Hefe-weizen German Style Pierogi filled with Roasted Red Pepper & Potato, Warm Scallion Dressing 3rd: Schneider Weisse Aventinus - Dolppelbock Wood Fired Fennel & Eggplant "Bratwurst", Celeriac & Parsnip Kraut 4th: Aecht Schlenerla Rauchbier - Smoked Marzen Roast Pork Loin, Stout Mustard, Braised Mustard & Kale Greens with Roasted Radish Veg Option: Zucchini Schnitzel, Stout Mustard, Braised Mustard & Kale Greens with Roasted Radish Dessert: Metropolitan Afterburner - Oktoberfest Apple-Cinnamon Roll, Bourbon Apple Butter, Pretzel Streussel Price: $60/person (includes farm tour, dinner, beer pairings, tax and tip) Other beverage offerings will be available for purchase to be enjoyed throughout the evening.
